The first one is very basic on processing. The second one include some graphic programming in processing, and very basic motion tracking.
But the simplest way is to use plug-in, Blobdetection is a simple one which Shadow Monster is using this:

Anson Mak is a video maker, writer, researcher, phonography sound artist, and former AMK member (local band). She has a new feature length documentary, ONE WAY STREET ON A TURNTABLE, showing in HKIFF this year. (Please kindly see the links for further information)
