more on visual music
(from joe's reply, embedded youtube videos)
Personally I love Sakamoto's performance with Toshio Iwai "1919".
I've post the link below in the reply of Ming's post. I love that the most. Performance with Alva Noto "Insen" some how for me is bit "outdated", of course, it is not fair to compare with 1919 since it was so perfect.
Toshio Iwai himself is a very good artist specialize in sound visualization. His TENORI-ON is his super cool and noziey work. Check out in youtube for thousands of Tenori-on.

Electroplankton for NDS is his another cool work.
Of course, my inspiration, I won't hesitate to suggest to get reference from the master of Visual Music Thomas Wilfred:
http://www.lumia-wilfred.org/content/animation/index.html
Lumia and Clavilux is must see.
Remember i've talked about the work that to put the sand on the speakers? This is Gary Hill's Soundings (or exactly, should be "Mediations" remake of soundings).
http://www.newmedia-art.org/cgi-bin/show-oeu.asp?ID=I0150282&lg=FRA
Perfect example on experimenting the relationship between sound and visual.
I found a similar DVD from the neo-jazz album Fast Asleep by Funki Porcini.

Meeting
Hey guys,
I am planning to meet you all right after the chinese new year.
How about 27/2 , 7:30pm at Art School? Please leave your feedback here.
This time, please bring your "detail" idea/proposal. We are going to discuss around.
I won't say "i need" what in the coming meeting, but i'd "suggest" you at least have some background research on your idea.
The most important is the OUTPUT FORM (sound installation, interactive installation, DVD, etc) of your project. At least you have something want to archieve, right?
Okay, how about I make a list for you:
1) Basic research (histroy research, relevant work, technical aspect (if any) )
2) Your ideal schedule to run the project
3) Output form of your work
4) What you need to archieve that you don't even know what is it (especially in technical)
Meanwhile, you can post question on this blog. I will read this blog everyday.

Shall we meet on Tuseday (13/2/2007)?
Dear Keith and Team members,
Shall we meet on Tuseday (13/2/2007)?
For me, before enjoy our Chinese New Year, I think it is right time for us to share anything what we have collected or researched for those weeks. Welcome for feedbacks. Thanks.

Questions....
Dear Keith,
I have some questions about the video:
(1) What tools can I used to produce the BGM and sound effect similar to the video embedded?
(2) What tools can produce the animation in the videos? (just Affect Effect?)
(3) Do you have any reference related to the sound visualization?
(like the DVD name about Ericsson that you mentioned before?)
Many Thanks
Ming ^^
